Preserving Timeless Traditions of Craftsmanship
Manufacturing Process
- Melting and Cutting: The process of creating glass products begins with heating the glass at high temperatures. As it melts, artisans skillfully use a shearing blade to cut it into a cylindrical form known as a gob.
- Moulding: Once cut, the gob gently falls by gravity into the mould, a die designed to give the glass its final form.
- Shaping: With a soft breath, the artisan blows air into the hollow pipe, causing the glass to expand and take form according to the mould, transforming it into a product.
- Cooling the Mould: After shaping, the mould is carefully cooled to ensure that the glass maintains its form as it starts to solidify.
- Removing the Product: Once sufficiently cooled, the product is carefully taken out of the mould and left to cool further.
- Solidification and Annealing: As the product shrinks and solidifies after cooling, the annealing process is used to prevent weaknesses and breakage, enhancing product durability.
