Preserving Timeless Traditions of Craftsmanship

Firozabad, the renowned glass city of India, boasts a glass-making heritage that stretches back over the centuries, rooted in the era of Mughals. The stunning glassware crafted here once graced the royal courts, symbolising elegance and luxury. Through the years, this vibrant industry has produced a wide variety of glass products, becoming a beloved choice for embellishing royal celebrations and weddings alike. The craft over the period of years has contemporaries itself to today’s needs and demands.

Manufacturing Process

  • Melting and Cutting: The process begins by heating the glass to a high temperature until it melts. Using a shearing blade, the molten glass is carefully cut into a cylindrical shape known as a "gob."
  • Moulding: The gob naturally falls into a die-shaped mould, which provides the glass with its initial form.
  • Shaping: By blowing air through a hollow pipe, the artisan expands the glass within the mould, shaping it into the final product form.
  • Cooling the Mould: After shaping, the mould is gradually cooled to help the glass maintain its structure as it begins to solidify.
  • Removing the Product: Once the glass has sufficiently cooled, the product is removed from the mould and left to cool further.
  • Solidification and Annealing: To enhance durability and prevent breakage, the product undergoes annealing, a controlled cooling process that ensures even solidification.

Note

  • Each product may feature slight variations in color or craftsmanship, which adds to its uniqueness and beauty.
  • Images may differ from the actual product in form and color due to variations in screen resolutions and device settings.
