Manufacturing Process
- Melting and Cutting: The process of creating glass products begins with heating the glass at high temperature. As it melts, artisans skillfully use a shearing blade to cut it into a cylindrical form known as a gob.
- Moulding & Shaping: The gob is cut and falls into the mould, where it's shaped. The artisan then blows air through a hollow pipe, expanding the glass to fit the mould, creating the final product.
- Cooling & Demoulding: After the shaping process, the mould is carefully cooled. This ensures that the glass maintains its form as it starts to solidify. Once sufficiently cooled, the product is carefully taken out of the mould and left to cool further.
- Solidification and Annealing: The product shrinks and solidifies after cooling. Uneven cooling can create weaknesses and breakage in the piece. To prevent this, the annealing process is used to ensure product durability.
- Creating Mosaic Surface: Various glass beads are attached to a glass base, forming a unique mosaic effect. A layer of white plaster is then applied to secure the beads. Afterward, the piece undergoes finishing to ensure durability and cleanliness. The mosaic effect results in a beautiful product with intricate patterns.
