Icon Preserving timeless craftsmanship and Technique

Pacchikari Stone inlay technique was brought to India in the 17th century from Persia. Mughal King Shah Jahan decided to build a Mausoleum in memory of her beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal. Pacchikari is practiced in Agra's Taj Ganj by skilled artisans who are descendants of the artists who built the Taj Mahal. The Pacchikari technique is a stone inlay method that involves setting marble and semi-precious stones on a stone base in a geometric pattern. In this Technique, floral patterns are designed and then transferred to brass foil, which is later used as stencils. Semiprecious stones, such as Green Aventurine (Green), Orange Aventurine (Orange), white mother of pearl (white), yellow aventurine (yellow), Jaisalmeri (Yellow) are inlaid on the Marble to give it a unique design. Pacchikari is a true testament to the rich heritage of Agra, which has been passed down through generations of families.
