Features
- Health Benefits: Kansa, made from tin and copper, is known in Ayurveda for aiding digestion and reducing acidity.
- Purity of Flavour: Being a neutral metal, Kansa does not react with food, preserving its natural taste without leaving any metallic aftertaste.
- Long-Lasting: Known for its strength and corrosion resistance, Kansa ensures that this thali set remains durable and retains its traditional charm with daily use.
- Eco-Friendly: As a sustainable and recyclable alloy of copper and tin, Kansa offers an excellent alternative to plastic or chemically treated tableware.
- Traditional Design: This Kansa set adds a touch of rustic elegance to your dining experience.
- Gifting Option: A thoughtful and timeless gift for weddings, anniversaries, festivals, and housewarming occasions.
Manufacturing Process
- Preparation of Alloy and Melting: Kansa is created by melting copper and tin in an induction furnace using medium-frequency heating. This ensures uniform heating and reduced impurities. Once fully molten, the alloy is thoroughly mixed and its composition is verified before casting.
- Casting: The molten Kansa is poured into preheated metal molds using gravity or die-casting methods to form the desired shape. After cooling, the casting is removed for further processing.
- Shaping and Machining: The rough casting is reshaped using hammers, followed by precision machining to achieve accurate dimensions and the final product form.
- Finishing: Abrasive tools are used to smooth the surface, followed by buffing to achieve a clean, polished finish.
- Cleaning / Quality Control: Ultrasonic cleaners are used to remove any residues. Each piece then undergoes a quality check to ensure accuracy and compliance with food safety standards.
Note
- Hand Wash: Clean Kansa products using mild dish soap and a soft sponge. Avoid harsh detergents, as they can damage the natural finish. Do not wash in a dishwasher to prevent potential damage.
- Dry After Washing: Use a soft cloth to dry Kansa items after washing to prevent water spots and maintain their natural sheen.
- Occasional Polish: Kansa naturally develops a patina over time. To restore its shine, polish it occasionally using a mixture of tamarind paste and flour.
- Avoid Prolonged Contact with Acidic Foods: Acidic foods like lemon juice, tomatoes, and tamarind can react with Kansa. Do not store them in Kansa ware for long; serve briefly, then clean and dry promptly.
